AlSharifX (ASX) recently signed a series of memorandum of understanding (MoUs), on the sidelines of GSMA’s flagship mobile industry and technology event MWC21 in Barcelona. AlSharif X is a SmartTech subsidiary of Alsharif Group Holding, specializing in 5G technologies and smart city infrastructure.

The first signed MoU is in the Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) fields with Citysys. Citysys specializes in innovative and sustainable IoT solutions. ASX will use Citysys’s experience in the building of Digital EcoSystems to operate Smart Cities in Saudi Arabia. Another MoU with SEEDiA, the pioneer in the Smart Cities furniture was signed to utilize their innovative solar-powered products, to meet the clean energy and smart cities goals of ASX’s sustainable projects. 

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Mohammed Yaqood, CEO of ASX, said: “We are committed to digitize cities and transforming them into smart cities. This will not only elevate the quality of life but also contribute to preserving the environment.

“The inspiring Vision2030 has motivated us to have alliances with the best in the industry globally, and import their technologies into Saudi Arabia,” he said and added that such alliances will help the Kingdom's economy to blend with the regional and international systems. This will also open up doors for young Saudi technicians to equip themselves with the latest skills and expertise.

ASX's strategic partnership with Taqnia Energy encourages participation in international forums to look for the latest technologies in the energy sector. The aim is to localize modern technologies and enhance local content in the energy sector and smart cities infrastructure.
